A new STEM professional development program we have available in partnership with the U.S. Navy. The foundation of the  STEM Boot Camp teacher training program is to enable high school teachers to do meaningful integration of the STEM disciplines within the context of real-world challenges and problems that student teams work on with real industry partners. The program is FREE OF CHARGE thanks to support from the U.S. Navy.
The program includes 50 hours of professional development – starting with two days of summer training and followed up by two meetings each month during the school year. Summer date options are July 19/20 or July 26/27.  Monthly sessions include both east and west coast options with start times of 3:30 p.m. EST and 7 p.m. EST.
  • Teachers in the STEM Boot Camp will learn how to enable high school students to work toward mastery of the important 21st Century Skills. Cognitive, intrapersonal, and interpersonal skills and abilities to successfully function as citizens, workers, and leaders in the 21st Century workforce are critical.
  • Teachers in the STEM Boot Camp will learn how to use problem and project-based pedagogy. Problem-based learning is grounded in a scenario, challenge, or problem.
  • Teachers in the STEM Boot Camp program will learn how to increase family and community Engagement.
  • Teachers will be provided support to develop their own integrated STEM, PBL unit aligned with their state standards and grounded in a real-world problem or local challenge.
  • Teachers will join a network of over 200 other teachers across the country who are members of the STEM Boot Camp program.
